Greek cuisine is certainly one of the foremost exponents of Mediterranean cuisine with Italian influences, Balkan and Turkish. Its preparation is simple and use up raw materials of great quality. One of its main ingredients is oil that is used in most recipes.
The most delicious Greek specialties and are known moussaca (aubergines accompanied lamb and spiced with cinnamon and red wine) and avgolemono (rice with chicken, eggs and lemon juice). Also noteworthy are the roasted meats and dishes made with fish or shellfish. The dishes usually include entries like keftedes (spicy meat balls) or tzatziki, a sauce of yogurt, cucumber and dill. How sweet are, among others, the baklavas: a puff pastry with honey, vanilla and almonds.
The Greek salads are famous internationally. Are cool and easy workmanship. Do not miss them olive oil, tomato, cucumber and feta cheese, which is possibly the most famous product of the country. It is also very common to add these salads the famous Greek olives.
Within the Greek culinary tradition we also find two typical drinks of the country: the retsina, ouzo made with pine nuts and a drink of anise that becomes dark when adding water.
